Kings Cross let down by TFL and Sadiq Khan yet again

Against the backdrop of promises made in 2020 to then GLA Member Andrew Dismore and reaffirmed to Anne Clarke, as “20 Miles on roads of Kings Cross by October 2022,” Sadiq Khan and TFL have not done anything yet again. Daniel Zylbersztajn-Lewandowski has now written to GLA Member Anne Clarke to confront Sadiq and TFL what on earth is going on.

Somebody at TFL seems to think Kings Cross is a low priority. The community had lobbied first TFL and Boris Johnson after cycle fatalities and high doses of pollution (fine particles and noise) which fell on deaf ears for years until Johnson finally introduced a plan for Kings Cross which was then approved on the consultation level.

Sadiq Khan promised to keep the plan but buried the transformation of the gyratory quietly during the pandemic.

Since 2020 Kings Cross roads are waiting to at the very least get speeds reduced. Khan / TFL promised again to deliver by October 2022, but nothing happened whatsoever.

More changes for road safety in the area were promised for 2024, but there is no longer any reason to believe that promises that were once given will be kept.
